Rehoboth Beach Weekend Cancelled.

We are sorry to have to inform you that, due to an unforeseen problem with a vital portion of the weekend, we are canceling the Rehoboth Beach Weekend.

We found out through George McCormick who had just returned from Rehoboth Beach and was kind enough to inform us that the restaurant on the beach level of the hotel, the one we use for our party, breakfasts and dinners, was closed and for sale. This was quite a surprise as we had already negotiated prices in April 2008. My further research showed that the restaurant never opened for the season and was put on the market a while ago. The rooftop restaurant cannot accommodate all of our dining needs, as they only do affairs (weddings, etc.). Other restaurants in the area cannot accommodate our large group satisfactorily. Neither the restaurateur nor the hotel staff saw fit to inform us that the restaurant would be closed. Needless to say, we will not be doing business with them again.

My wife and I have done this Rehoboth Beach Weekend for 17 years and it was fun while it lasted, but we decided last night that it is time to call it quits. If anybody is willing to organize this weekend for next year, feel free to do so, but without a very close in, large restaurant, it will not be the same weekend. Our weekend worked because it was a social riding event and we partied and ate together as a large group right in the hotel. We were one big, happy family. Thanks to all who came to and made Rehoboth Beach Weekend wonderful and fun through the years. Thanks for the memories.
