PPTC Century
Pre-registration has closed. Please fill out the form below and bring it with you to register on-site for this year's ride (September 20, 2009). Directions and more information is listed below
The Century ride is only days away now and over 100 volunteers are knee deep in preparations. We are all excited to see such a large event come together entirely by volunteer effort. Weather predictions are for a great biking day with temperatures in the 70s. All your favorite treats will be served including tomato sandwiches, boiled potatoes, all the granola bars, cookies, peanut butter crackers, fruits, and Gatorade you can hope to imbibe. For those arriving early, the boy scouts will be selling bagels, muffins, coffee, tea, and hot chocolate at the school.
Be sure not to miss your free lunch provided by the Band Booster Club of Clark County High School on the school grounds. They are making homemade pork barbecue, turkey, and cheese sandwiches, hot dogs, and chili dogs. The band will be playing to welcome and celebrate returning riders.
This is a great time to ride and be in the area, as many historic places are open and providing special events this weekend. Please remember that you must have a helmet to ride in this event. Registration for those registering on event day begins at 7:00 AM and stops at 9:00 AM. Remember also to bring:
- your bike!
- identification
- gloves and other bike wear
- water bottle
- extra tubes and tools to fix a flat tire
- cell phone
- sunscreen and
- insect repellent.
Pick up your t-shirt, if you pre-registered, your cue sheets, and wrist band, at registration. There will be a crew of parking attendants to help you find space, and bike shops on duty to make last minute adjustments and repairs.
We look forward to a great biking event on Sunday and hope to see you there.
